Here’s a snapshot of a budding Torch Ginger , scientific name of Etlingera Elatior. Yes, that one is still budding as a fully opened Torch Ginger looks like a big red pineapple sitting in layers of petals. I’ll try to get a picture of that soon.

Flora: A Shrimp Standing Up From Its Stem

This is what is commonly known as Shrimp Plant. Its scientific name is Justicia Brandegeana. On some angle, it does look like shrimp to me, shrimp covered in curry that is.

Flora: Davao’s Exotic Beauty

An image of Vanda Sanderiana or what is commonly known as Waling-Waling. To me, they actually look like pink lions greeting the sun with their yawn.

Flora: They Look Like Yellow Pom Poms

With a scientific name of Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis Linn, this red Hibiscus or Gumamela reaches towards the sky with its stamen that look like cheerleaders raising up their yellow pompoms.
